Carer Support & Looked After Children
At Dreams & Wonders, we provide compassionate, trauma-informed support for carers, including foster carers, kinship carers, adoptive parents, and those supporting looked after children (LAC). Our services recognise the emotional demands of caring roles and the importance of supporting both the carer and the child to achieve stability, connection, and wellbeing.
Caring for the carers
You cannot pour from an empty cup - we provide the compassionate space carers need to pause, reflect, and recharge, helping them navigate complex needs with confidence and connection.

Judgement-free Environment
Our work is attachment-aware and neuro-affirming, creating a calm, non-judgemental environment where carers can pause, reflect, and feel supported

Essential Support
Through equine-assisted activities, nature-based experiences, and reflective coaching approaches, carers are supported to process stress, build resilience, and strengthen emotional regulation and confidence in their role.

Equine-Assisted Development
Horses offer a unique, grounding presence—responding to emotional states without judgement—helping carers develop greater self-awareness, boundaries, and clarity

Individual and Group Sessions
Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in small groups and can include joint sessions where appropriate, alongside carer-only wellbeing or coaching sessions.

Collaboritve Work
We work collaboratively with families, social workers, and professionals to ensure our support aligns with wider care and wellbeing plans.

At Dreams & Wonders, we value the vital role carers play and are committed to supporting their wellbeing - recognising that when carers are supported, children are better supported too.
